Tehachapi Audubon April 2025 Meeting Recap
Karen Pestana presented an engaging Western Bluebird Nest Box program at the April 22 Tehachapi Audubon Society meeting. Using beautiful photographs and clear diagrams, she illustrated the Bluebird nesting cycle, nesting boxes, proper monitoring techniques and bird behavior. Fantastic, Karen, thank you!
Thanks also to her hubby, Mark, for editing and condensing eight hours of nest cam VHS tape into ten minutes of digital video so we could watch a Bluebird couple build a nest and raise their young to fledge.
Our raffle was fun as the winners chose their prizes from a table of bird-related items!
Karen will lead a bird walk at Brite Lake on Saturday, May 3, 2025
All are welcome and the outing is free.
Meet at the gate by the Water District building at 9 a.m.
We will be looking at Western Bluebird nest boxes and have time to observe other birds around the lake. We will have binoculars for loan.
