Tehachapi Audubon – SAVE THE DATE – August 26

Our next program occurs on Tuesday, August 26, at 7 p.m. in the Golden Hills Elementary School cafeteria. Jon Hammond will be our guest speaker.

Jon, a fourth generation Tehachapi resident, lives on the farm his family established in 1921. An organic farmer, photographer, writer, and authority on local history, Jon freely shares his vast knowledge of the greater Tehachapi area. His “Pen in Hand” and “Natural Sightings” articles are regular features in The Tehachapi News and The Loop newspapers.

You are sure to enjoy Jon’s presentation about the birds of our area. His expertise includes native plants and gardening techniques that support our avian friends. A question and answer period will be included.

The program is free. All are welcome; you do not need to be an Audubon member to attend. Light refreshments are served and there is a bird related raffle. See kernaudubonsociety.org for information.

Tehachapi Audubon Group is part of Kern Audubon Society (KAS). KAS has many projects including installation of Fishing Line Receptacles, Save the Kern activities, community education and preservation of public lands and wildlife habitat.
